Honey Whole Wheat Bread
This is the bread I’ve been making since I’ve been here. It is sooooo delicious.
Honey Whole Wheat Bread
4 eggs
2 Tbsp salt
1/3 c powdered milk
2 1/2 c hot tap water
2/3 c oil
2/3 c honey
5 c ground wheat flour
Put all above ingredients in mixer and mix until well blended. Turn off mixer and let sit one hour.
Once the hour is up, put the following in a small bowl to proof:
4 Tbsp yeast
1 tsp honey or sugar
1 cup luke warm water
Turn mixer on and let kneading hook work while yeast raises. After yeast proofs, then add slowly to flour mixture and let mix several minutes. Slowly add white flour until the dough pulls away from the sides of the mixer. Let knead 12 minutes. Place in warm bowl (I just put how water in a large bowl while it’s kneading) and cover with plastic wrap. Let it raise until double in size. Divide dough into 4 equal parts and form into loaves. Place into greased bread pans and let raise until about 1 inch above the top of the bread pan. Bake at 350 for 27-30 minutes.
